HOW HEATHERLY FLORAL WAS BORN

Our History

Heatherly,  Built From The Ground UpJust like the Peonies that I've admired as far back as I can remember, my roots originate from a seed that my mother planted in the most fertile New Hampshire soil. While dirt under one's fingernails may serve as the barrier to a hand shake for some, I find it's an opportunity to share a connection with the Earth in which we all find common ground. But please, don't tell anyone that I actually have a little grass stuck to the bottom of my feet!
A Sustainable Home Is Where My Heart LivesWhile my bouquets and landscape designs have been referred to as "breathtaking", my gardening techniques are a much needed breath of air that our climate desperately needs. In turn, I've been embraced by my community in ways that have redefined my meaning of neighbor. For us, harmony is a beekeeper next door, his queen so inviting that she captivates the most prestigious of monarch butterflies. Neither will ever admit it, but the hummingbirds attract the audience!
I See What You SeeSome say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The way I see it, the most stunning view I can imagine is a calloused finger gently stroking a delicate Iris. Hey, I see you eyeing the hydrangeas?  Artistic, Yet Humanistic SensibilitiesAs an artist that's experimented with an assortment of mediums, there's no canvas or palette that's more versatile than my gardens. To me, beauty is not only visual, but also encompasses texture, smell and how each speaks to the individual.  Everyone has a favorite color, shape and form that tickles their sense of sight and touch. Additionally, I'm lucky enough to have culinary experience that's heightened my sensitivity to aromatic balance. Psst, when the conversation is reciprocal, you literally breathe life into each other!

I Do What I AmI don't produce, I create. I don't recreate, because I'm constantly exploring. The greatest lesson that nature has taught me is quite simple; the pursuit of perfection is the abandonment of evolution. Gardening fosters growth by presenting perennial opportunities to rediscover myself. I know you like what I did there!
